Joint-stock company Refservice was established on the basis of Russian Railways branch office in accordance with the Board of Directors Decision of 28th December 2005. The subsidiary joint-stock company Refservice was registered 17th February 2006. Shareholders: joint-stock company Russian Railways (100% less one share), Centre for Organizational Support of Railway Transport Structural Reform (one share). Authorized capital stock: Rubles 3 491 000 000.

Refservice primary scope of activities:
- main-line railway freight transport operations;
- delivery of rolling stock for loading and perishable cargoes transportation arrangements in Refservice own insulated rolling stock;.
- repairs of own insulated rolling stock and other types of railcars owned by other proprietors.

Refservice is the leader on the Russian perishables transportation market, the company operate, maintain, repair and refurbish refrigerated and insulated rolling stock.

Company stuff size: 3764 persons, including 1677 mechanics, 1597 workers, 490 managerial staff (121 staff head office inclusive).

Representations scope of activities

•    Contractual work with clients.
•    Documentation, cargo receipt and release (completing a set of transport documents, diversion of cargoes, presentation of cargoes for shipment at dispatch railway stations and cargo release at destination railway stations).
•    Delivery of cargo from the shipper’s warehouse to the railway station and from the railway station to the consignee’s warehouse by own or leased trucks.
•    Entire range of cargo handling and warehousing services (territorial warehousing, terminal services for combined transportation, short-term cargo storage, cargo sorting, etc.).
•    Information services (notification of cargo dispatch to consignees, cargo tracing en route in real time, notification of the loaded/empty truck approach to consignees/shippers, information about cargo state border crossing, notification of cargo arrival at port, loading aboard the ship and delivery to destination to consignees/shippers).
•    Cargo insurance arrangements.
•    Customs clearance of cargo and transport vehicles (declaration of cargo at customs offices, processing of customs entry and accompanying documents of incoming/outgoing cargo, making payments of customs  duties and carrying out other customs clearance formalities).
•    Settlement of accounts of cargo handling by stevedoring companies and port authorities.

At present Refservice fleet amounts to 11000 railcars, including 6200 IV thermos cars, 1100 thermos cars, 3500 refrigerated cars, 100 general purpose boxcars, 60 fitting flatcars.
