Refservice Rolling Stock

Refrigerated rolling stock is designed for transportation of any type of perishable cargo for any distance. It features the constant temperature level in the cargo compartment to be maintained in the course of the entire transit time. It guarantees that the cargo keeps the temperature it had at loading.

This rolling stock is recommended for shipment of frozen and chilled cargoes (meat, fish, semi-prepared foods) fresh fruits and vegetables, medicines and any other cargo if there is a risk of violating storage temperature regime.

Refservice offers three types of refrigerator rolling stock to move perishable cargo: refrigerated units, self-contained refrigerator cars (ARV), self-contained refrigerator cars with a service compartment (ARVE)

Insulated rolling stock (thermos cars)

Unlike refrigerator rolling stock, insulated cars are not equipped with refrigeration and heating units.

Temperature maintenance en route within required span is ensured by thermal protection of the cargo compartment and existing cargo thermal energy available at loading. Due to this fact, thermos cars impose restrictions on cargoes in terms of ride quality and distance range.

Thermos cars can carry various perishable cargoes (e.g. beer, juices, beverages and other perishable and thermosensitive cargoes) excluding fresh vegetables and fruits.
Refservice offers two types of thermoses for transportation: thermos cars and IV thermoses.

The cargoes carried by Refservice can be divided into two main groups:

1. Meat, fish, fruits (20%), mainly designed for transportation in refrigerated railcars.
2. Beer, juices, vine, beverages, canned food (80%) suitable for transportation in thermos cars.
